The temple complex of Angkor, of course, is Siem Reap's main draw with thousands of visitors from near and far coming every year to see the architectural wonder. However there are a number of other options of things to see and do whilst in Siem Reap. A number of these are mentioned in our ‘Things to see and do in Siem Reap' section.

Come out of your hotel or guesthouse and see what Phnom Penh has to offer besides good accommodation. A stroll along the riverfront is highly recommended, especially at sunrise in front of the Palace. You can also go on an island tour or river cruise; or take in a performance of the slow, graceful, classical Khmer dancing known as Apsara. On a more somber note, visit Toul Sleng and the killing field of Choeung Ek to better appreciate the peace and stability that Cambodians are experiencing today.
Soak up the atmosphere, watch the local activity, take in a show, visit one of the many wats (pagodas), buy some souvenirs, sample the food and see the sites!

Given the number and the quality of the beaches in Sihanoukville (as well as the relative lack of them anywhere else in Cambodia), it is no surprise that this is the main reason for most people to travel to Sihanoukville to spend part of their holiday. There are a number of other things of interest to see in Sihanoukville; including monuments, mountains, waterfalls and a national park. Enjoy the beaches, and then enjoy all the other sights of Sihanoukville and its surrounding areas!
